To the Editor:
In late January, McHenry County received good news. The MCC College Board of Trustees extended Clint Gabbard’s contract for another two years. Gabbard’s personality and expert direction are critical as the college progresses.
On April 2, voters have a chance to further the college’s mission. There are two individuals running for MCC trustee positions that are rock-solid choices for McHenry County College. Suzanne Hoban is running for a four-year term. Hoban has that unique ability to draw people together so that all see the good and bad in any situation.
Her leadership for 20-plus years as founder and executive director of the Family Health Partnership Clinic is a testament to her service to the community. Suzanne has been a successful businesswoman, leader and community activist for years and will do what’s right for the students – and the taxpayers.
Molly Walsh is running for re-election to a six-year term. Molly has been a voice of change at the college.
Having worked as a college employee, Walsh is well aware of the issues facing the college, as well as the students attending classes there. She is a strong advocate for students’ rights – yet fiscally responsible, protecting taxpayer dollars. As a “voice of reason” – Molly will work hard for everyone in the county, keeping students and academia at the top of her list. I have worked hand-in-hand with both Suzanne Hoban and Molly Walsh in the past and can’t think of better choices for college trustees. Please cast your vote for Suzanne Hoban and Molly Walsh on April 2.
