Several meet and greet events and a forum have been scheduled for Woodstock City Council candidates.
There will be three open seats on the April consolidated election ballot for Woodstock City Council. Incumbents Mark Saladin, Dan Hart and Maureen Larson aren’t seeking re-election. Five candidates – Thomas Grell, Lisa Lohmeyer, Wendy Piersall, Darrin Flynn and Michael Stanard – are vying for the seats.
A forum, hosted by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Woodstock Independent, will be held March 14 at the Opera House, 121 W. Van Buren St. A reception will go from 6 to 7 p.m. with the forum taking place from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Several candidates have scheduled individual events as well.
Flynn – co-owner of D&A Salon Apothecary on the Square, Promote Woodstock advisory council and Chamber of Commerce board member – will hold a campaign kickoff event from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the salon, 106 N. Benton St.
Piersall – a business owner and member of the Promote Woodstock advisory council and Old Courthouse and Sheriff’s House commission – has an event scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. March 24 at Mixin Mingle, 124 Cass St.
Lohmeyer, a Woodstock insurance agent, has two events scheduled. The first is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Winestock, 136 Cass St. on the Square. A second will be held 6 to 8 p.m. March 13 at Facets, 11671 Catalpa Lane.
Stanard, founder of Woodstock-based design and advertising company One Zero Charlie, said he plans to host an event at his studio in early March.
Grell, a longtime Woodstock resident and technical sales rep, plans to host an event 2 to 4 p.m. March 2 at the Public House, 101 N. Johnson St. The event may run until 5 p.m. if it’s busy, he said.
