Letter: Keep 'Non Sequitur'

To the Editor:

It is extremely annoying that you have decided to drop the “Non Sequitur” cartoon, which contained a vulgarity in a recent Sunday strip. It is even more annoying since you don’t run the Sunday edition, so your gentle readers weren’t actually exposed.

“Non Sequitur” is brash, iconoclastic, prickly and often politically incorrect. It is especially noteworthy for challenging the ridiculous political climate currently holding us all hostage. Wiley Miller doesn’t hesitate to mock those people and parties in power who deserve mockery, whether right- or left-wing. He has been severely criticized by many of those whom he has skewered, and now they seem to have found a way to silence him.

I find his satiric humor refreshing and thought-provoking (although it’s clear that many people simply don’t want their thoughts to be provoked). Please consider bringing back “Non Sequitur,” both weekdays and Sundays. It is far more worthwhile and entertaining than several of the other strips you run.
