The Richmond-Burton School District 157 Board is set to vote on a superintendent contract at Wednesday’s meeting in the Richmond-Burton High School library.
Superintendent Tom Lind serves both District 157 and Nippersink School District 2, which will vote on the same contract during its board March 20 meeting at Richmond Grade School.
When contacted Monday, Lind said the board would not share the new contract or its details until after it was approved by both boards.
Lind’s current contract, paid 60 percent by District 2 and 40 percent by District 157, runs through June 30, 2020. It pays Lind a base salary of $155,000 and allows for pay increases over that span but does not guarantee them. It initially was approved Dec. 14, 2016.
The contract is set to be reviewed each year on or before April 1 and can be extended at that time. The board also must approve a written evaluation of Lind by May each year, except in the final year of the contract, when the evaluation is set to be pushed up to Jan. 15, 2020.
An election is set for April 2, with five candidates running for three open spots on the District 157 board and four candidates – along with two write-ins – for three spots on the District 2 board.
