To the Editor:
Residents of the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District, please get out and support our firefighters/paramedics. We need you to vote “yes” on the referendum to keep us at the current service level, and add to it.
The ambulances, fire engines and trucks also need a replacement schedule. The district only has 12 on-duty personnel daily. I know that sounds like a lot, but that only will handle one or two calls at a time.
What if you are the third call? Do you really want to wait for a mutual aid unit from Huntley or McHenry with prolonged wait times? Someone not breathing or your child trapped in a burning building would be unacceptable to you. So you need to get out and vote “yes” now, or the unacceptable will be your fault. Seconds count in an emergency, and your vote counts now more than ever.
