Letter: Reward good service

To the Editor:

Retain Trustee Jim Anhalt on the Spring Grove Village Board. Anhalt has a record for getting things done that are meaningful to all residents. As head of Public Works, he secured a grant and got the walking, jogging and biking paved path constructed along Winn Road.

If you noticed an improvement in snow removal from village roads during this particularly bitter winter, you can thank Anhalt for it. For decades, residents have been asking the state of Illinois for traffic lights at the intersection of Route 173 and Wilmot Road.

Anhalt has tackled that, too, with the needed traffic lights scheduled for installation this spring. If you value good service and effective leadership in Spring Grove, please don’t hesitate to vote for Anhalt; just as he didn’t hesitate to break up a bank robbery as an off-duty Chicago police officer taking a bullet in the process.

Change is only beneficial when it’s for the better, definitely not the case here, so vote for Jim Anhalt on April 2.
