To the Editor:
I am endorsing my friend Mary Beth Siddons for a seat on the McHenry County College Board of Trustees. As a resident of McHenry County for more than 40 years, what happens in McHenry County matters to her, and she is vested in continuing to ensure that all people have access to an education at McHenry County College. After graduating from MCC, she earned her degree from Northern Illinois University and then graduated from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
She proudly serves as a charter member of the Education to Empowerment Committee at MCC. She was awarded distinguished alumni at MCC, she is a donor of the Harrison V. Siddons Veterans Scholarship at MCC, donor of the William J. Laskey Music Scholarship (CL Strikers). She has spent the past 25 years managing and running businesses. She grew up in Crystal Lake, lived in Marengo, Woodstock and now McHenry.
She cares about our community. She sees the need for growth, for making families want to move to McHenry county because of MCC. She can encourage innovation in driving technology and coursework selection and how those courses are delivered as well as keeping an eye on fiscal responsibility. Her years of serving on leadership development councils has shown her the need for diversity in thought and experience to encourage diversified talent in workforce, boards, student bodies, etc.
I have known Siddons for more than 10 years. I have seen the caring and compassionate side of her firsthand. Her heart is in the right place, and she is such a people person. Her compassion has taken her to also serve on the board of Make A Wish Foundation. So her outreach services children, adults and our most-senior population. What more can I tell you? She is raising her hand and willing to give of her time to serve proudly on the MCC Board of Trustees, and each of us should proudly go to the voting booth and vote for Mary Beth Siddons.
