Warrants have been issued for two 18-year-old Marengo men who police say robbed a man at gunpoint for $120 worth of jewellery.
Aidan M. Odonoghue and Esteban J. Campos each are charged with armed robbery, a Class-X felony typically punishable by as many as 30 years in prison.
Police believe that Campos, of the 1000 block of Kishwaukee Street, pointed a firearm at another man on Wednesday, and demanded two necklaces valued at $120, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court.
Odonoghue, of the 700 block of Lura Lane, is accused of being present while the armed robbery happened, and equally responsible for the act, according to a separate criminal complaint.
Neither man was in police custody Monday evening.
Bond is set at $200,000 for Odonoghue and $150,000 for Campos, public records show. A judge has scheduled court dates for both men on March 28.
Crystal Lake police could not be reached to comment on further details, including what kind of weapon was used and whether either men knew the alleged victim.
