1. What is your largest priority for the Crystal Lake Park District?

Focus on increasing revenue and less dependence on tax dollars.

Provide programs, park features and facilities that impact the most with the least expense.

Maintain a declining tax rate.

Use buildings to the highest capacity.

Increase family-oriented community events.

2. What changes should the Park District make in the future?

Better communication with residents regarding park projects.

Work with the city and Lakewood to evaluate the park district's role in, and responsibility to, the lake in an effort to keep it healthy and safe for future generations.

Pursue a community center or pool only if the community survey shows the need or residents come to meetings requesting it.

3. What are your thoughts on how the Crystal Lake Park District has worked in recent years?

The professional staff at the park district recently restructured duties to better address community needs.

The park district worked with other taxing bodies entering into inter-governmental agreements for shared use saving taxpayer money.

Recent upgrades and added features made significant improvements to parks for many residents.

4. What makes you stand out from your opponents?

My years of experience and extensive knowledge brings insight to the table.

My strong appreciation for the volunteers who contribute to protecting natural areas and promoting youth sports.

My campaign is based on fact. I make decisions based on research, attend meetings and solicit feedback from residents.

5. What actions have you not agreed with in recent years?

Lowering the non-resident fee for programs.

I have opposed more land acquisition when it doesn't benefit the residents.

I have opposed using tax dollars to keep a banquet hall open.

6. What else should voters know about you?

I am a long-time resident of Crystal Lake and live here full-time. I raised my family here and am watching my grandchildren grow up here.

I am dedicated to serving the entire community. I will continue to serve the community with integrity, and strive to be a great representative to all taxpayers.

I will continue to protect tax dollars and use them wisely in an effort to increase property values.

After working for the park district for 19 years, I have a thorough understanding of finances.

I attend meetings regularly and thoroughly read the material presented, asking the tough questions.

I have been involved as a volunteer with many of the youth sports leagues.

I am very interested in giving back to a wonderful community.
