1. What is your largest priority for Lake in the Hills if elected?
Economic growth. While the addition of AtHome, which now occupies the former Dominicks, is certainly a move in the right direction, it is nearly the extent of recent commercial development. My focus will be on filling vacant store fronts and buildings, such as the medical center at Algonquin Road and Crystal Lake Road. As well, working with fellow board member so develop property along Routes 47 and 31.
2. What changes should Lake in the Hills make in the future?
Lake in the Hills staff and board currently does an excellent job of maintaining an outstanding community. Changes could include additional Parks and Recreation programming and as stated above, bringing more business to the village.
3. What are your thoughts on video gaming in the village?
I do not oppose video gaming. But I do feel there should be a a limit to how many businesses receive licenses and how many machines may occupy a given retailer.
4. What makes you stand out compared to the other candidates?
With over 10 years of service as an appointed official, appointed or reappointed by three village presidents, I am well versed in how the Village government functions. I know and have worked with staff and the current village board on many occasions. That experience and knowledge will be invaluable to me as a Trustee giving me a solid foundation to make informed decision.
5. What else should voters know about you?
I am committed to the village of Lake in the Hills through my appointed positions and volunteer works over the last 12-plus years. I am here to listen to our residents and be an advocate for them and their ideas/concerns and will always be accessible to them. I am proud of our community and intend to keep Lake in the Hills the outstanding community that it is.
