Letter: Who is Bobbi Baehne?

To the Editor:

I live in the 4th Ward of McHenry. Our current alderman, Scott Curry, has decided not to run in the April election. I am sorry to hear that. Along with Alderman Andy Glab, he has shown the restraint needed to keep Mayor Wayne Jett and the rest of the City Council in check.

Now comes Bobbi Baehne. Has she knocked on your door? Have you received any flyers? Do you even know who she is or what she stands for in our community? She has no opponent and is obscure. Can we trust her? Is she aligned with Jett?

There’s no doubt she wins the election, but then what? Be very concerned, 4th Ward – you don’t know what you are getting.

Remember Curry showing up at you door? I do!

Where is Bobbi Baehne? Missing in action! That’s where! Look at her business blog, Think Big Go Local Inc. There are lots of accolades but nothing to do with McHenry’s 4th Ward.

Her business on Bull Valley Road is between one-tenth of a mile and eight-tenths of a mile across the street from her constituency. Can’t she walk across the street to talk to the families she is going to represent?

I called and left a voicemail and got no reply. It’s unfortunate that she will be our new alderman of the 4th Ward. Show up at City Council meetings to find out what Bobbi is all about. Here’s to hoping.
