U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Naperville, has invited students from the 14th Congressional District to apply to the 2019 Congressional Art Competition.
For more than 30 years, the Congressional Art Competition has showcased the talented work of young students from across the country. Applications from interested students are due April 19.
“The Congressional Art Competition is an exciting opportunity for young artists to share their work and message and bring a small part of the 14th District to the halls of Congress,” Underwood said. “I strongly encourage all students to apply and look forward to seeing your artwork.”
The winning student will receive round-trip tickets for themselves and one guest to Washington, D.C., to meet with Underwood and also attend the Congressional Art Competition Award Ceremony with students from congressional districts across the country.
To be considered, students must meet the following requirements:
• Must be a resident of the 14th Congressional District of Illinois.
• Must submit an original piece of artwork created in the last year.
• Must mail or drop off artwork submissions to Underwood’s district office.
• Must submit a student release form, which can be found at www.ohalleran.house.gov/sites/ohalleran.house.gov/files/documents/2019_Student_Release_Form_Fillable.pdf.
