A four-year agreement between Fox River Grove School District 3 Board and the Fox River Grove Education Association has been reached and will be voted on during the board’s next regularly scheduled meeting April 15.
The agreement will continue to give a percent increase for each licensed staff member. Each year of the contract, staff members will receive a 3% increase to the base. This allows the district to avoid teacher retirement service penalties.
Both sides felt the negotiations went smoothly.
Education association representatives said they thought the new contract was fair to both the teachers and the board. The contract also will help protect the financial health of the district while maintaining quality staff, representatives added.
Superintendent Tim Mahaffy said the board appreciated the collegial dialogue during negotiations.
