A 26-year-old Lakemoor woman was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center on Tuesday after a two-car crash in Johnsburg, police said.
First responders were dispatched about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to Route 31 and Johnsburg Road for a reported crash. Two drivers were taken to hospitals with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, Johnsburg Police Chief Keith Von Allmen said.
The crash occurred when the 26-year-old woman was driving south on Route 31 in a gray Dodge Avenger. She tried to turn left onto Johnsburg Road and collided with a 2010 Toyota Scion, Von Allmen said.
The Toyota driver had been driving north on Route 31, Von Allmen said.
The Toyota driver, a woman from Richmond, was taken to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital and the Lakemoor woman was flown to Condell, he said.
Von Allmen said he believed the two have been released. The age of the second driver and the towns the women were from were not immediately available.
No one has been cited yet, Von Allmen said.
The intersection was shutdown from about 4 to 7 p.m. while the McHenry County Major Crash Assistance team investigated, he said.
