A driver and minor passenger were sent to the hospital Sunday after a three-vehicle crash in Lakemoor, police said.
The crash occurred about 5:11 p.m. Sunday at Routes 12 and 120. The driver of the first truck was traveling west on Route 120 and went through a red light, Lakemoor Police Chief David Godlewski said.
The second truck was headed south on Route 12 through the intersection when the first truck collided with it and sent the second truck into a third truck, he said.
The driver of the first truck – Rogelio Lopez-Mora of North Chicago – and a child were sent to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, Godlewski said.
Lopez-Mora was cited for disobeying a traffic light.
Godlewski said weather played a factor in the crash. McHenry County saw 8 inches of snowfall Sunday.
