To the Editor:
April is here, spring is springing, and the Earth and its beauty is blooming to life again. It also gives us a chance to spring again ourselves.
Easter may be known to some as bunnies and candy, but it’s truly about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior.
His resurrection gives us a second chance of hope eternal – to believe He came and saved us from our sins. It is why we repent, and it is why we hold onto faith – hearing His message through His word. Christ went through hell so He could bring heaven closer to us. But there are still some who live far from Him – those who need to see in order to believe.
As the sun rises and the sun sets, God gives them proof every day, but it’s no good if their eyes are closed, their minds are closed and they are attached to things that won’t last.
In this season of new birth, we pray for His help in reaching them, but doing so in His ways, not ours.
We bring people to Christ by His example, for we cannot do anything without Him. So let Christ, His Spirit renew us today.
As we reflect on that dark journey to Calvary, to the crucifixion, to the glorious triumph of His resurrection, the light of a new birth of freedom. Let us take that hope Christ gives and share it with the world.
For no matter what dark valleys lie ahead, hold onto your faith.
For the world may hate us, but remember this, it hated Him, too.
But in the process, keep the great commandment of love one another. For so many need to see it.
And the way for them to see Christ is through our lives – following Christ’s example.
May this Easter give a new birth to those who are yet to be reborn.
For blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! For it is His peace, not the world’s, He gives.
