Cary-Grove scored three first-half goals in a 4-0 Fox Valley Conference girls soccer win over Jacobs on Friday in Algonquin to clinch a share of the FVC title.
A win or a draw Tuesday against Prairie Ridge would give the Trojans (11-1-1, 7-0 FVC) the outright FVC crown. Prairie Ridge and Crystal Lake Central both have one loss in conference play behind C-G.
Kelli Ives, Jenna Stayart, Kenedi Jones and Kailyn Sheehan each scored goals for C-G. Jordan Dale, Katie Glowinski, Avery Nielsen and Stayart each one assists. Goalkeeper McKenna Sheehan made three saves.
Jacobs (8-9-1, 2-3) has lost two of its past three games.
Crystal Lake South 2, McHenry 1: At McHenry, Bella Farrington scored twice in the second half of the Gators’ FVC win.
Emma Chudik had one assist and goalkeeper Lauren Buckley made two saves for South (5-11-1, 2-5).
Reyna Landa scored for McHenry (5-13-1, 0-6), with an assist from Sophie Gasmann. Annie Bantner made 10 saves.
Woodstock 2, Marengo 0: At Marengo, Emma Dorn and Cameron Wormley scored goals for the Blue Streaks (13-5-1, 9-0-1) in a Kishwaukee River Conference win. Woodstock takes on Burlington Central at 1 p.m. Saturday in a battle of the KRC’s last two unbeaten teams.
Marengo dropped to 5-10-3 overall and 5-7 in the KRC.
Dundee-Crown 0, South Elgin 0: At Carpentersville, goalkeeper Diana Santillan made five saves for the Chargers (7-6-1) in a nonconference draw.
Lakes 7, Woodstock North 0: At Lake Villa, North (11-9-3) created nine shots on goal but was shut out in a nonconference loss. North’s Hannah Fink made 13 saves, while Kylie Finch added eight saves.
Huntley 13, Bishop McNamara 3 (5 inn.): At the Marengo Tournament, Huntley (17-7) scored a run in every inning. Grace Kutz and Sofia Tenuta hit home runs. Tenuta had four total RBIs on a 2-for-4 day.
Teagan O’Rilley drew four walks and scored three runs. Reese Hunkins went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Huntley’s Briana Bower pitched all five innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out 10.
Marengo 5, Hampshire 4: At the Marengo Tournament, the Indians scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off win over Hampshire. The game-winning run scored on an error in the infield.
Hannah Ritter, Lauren Aubry and Kiley Christopher each had two hits for Marengo (14-11). Ritter also drew two walks and scored three runs. Brooke Berhens pitched a complete game, allowing four runs, three earned.
Hampshire’s Sarah Bowen went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run. Shelby Siegbahn went 2 for 2 with a walk. Katie Del Re pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs, for Hampshire (12-9).
Crystal Lake South 10, Prairie Ridge 4: At Crystal Lake South, the Gators hit four home runs in an FVC win.
Emily Sulikowski, Baylee Kassel, Brooke Kuffel and Alexis Pupillo each hit a homer. Pupillo went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs. Six players drove in at least one run for the Gators (22-1, 9-1).
Christina Toniolo pitched four innings, allowing three earned runs. Alyssa Niketopoulos pitched three innings, allowing one earned run.
Kylie Leverenz hit a double, drew two walks and drove in two runs for Prairie Ridge (4-14, 3-7). Nichole Kiddy went 2 for 5 with a double and a run.
Cary-Grove 10, Crystal Lake Central 0 (6 inn.): At Crystal Lake, C-G’s Emma Hill pitched six scoreless innings, striking out eight, in an FVC win. Hill allowed three hits and one walk.
Nine Trojans recorded at least one hit. Frankie Cruz hit a home run for C-G (9-9, 4-5), going 2 for 3 with four RBIs. Grace Clarke, Jazz Flashing, Kelly Johnson and Katy Wieczorek hit doubles.
Ellie Berg, Baylee Snell and Kenna Kessler hit singles for the Tigers (9-9, 4-5).
McHenry 16, Dundee-Crown 11: At McHenry, the Warriors scored six runs in the third and six in the fourth of an FVC win.
Maddy McDaniel, Kate Funk and Tori Boysen hit home runs for the Warriors (9-10, 5-5). McDaniel and Boysen both went 3 for 5. Taylor Zoephel was a homer shy of the cycle, going 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs.
For D-C (5-13, 1-7), Grace Dierwechter hit a double and a home run and drove in three runs. Cady English went 4 for 5 with two doubles and three runs.
Huntley 9, Crystal Lake Central 3: At Crystal Lake, Huntley (19-5, 13-3) scored six run in the top of the seventh to beat Central in FVC play. The Tigers (6-15, 1-12) made three errors in the seventh inning.
Huntley’s Michael Talesky drove in two runs. Evan Tocmo, Zach Model and Kyle Maurer each had one hit, one run and one RBI. Hunter Rumachik went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Davis Pasco earned the win in relief, pitching two scoreless innings.
Central’s Reece Mensching pitched five innings, allowing three runs, none earned. He struck out five and walked one. At the plate, Mensching drove in one run. Justin Obaldo went 2 for 3 with a run.
Prairie Ridge 10, Jacobs 0: At Algonquin, Ben Harris hit two doubles and went 3 for 4 with an RBI for the Wolves in an FVC win. Keegan Garis hit a double and drove in three runs. Jared Lindquist was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.
Harris pitched five scoreless innings for Prairie Ridge (18-6, 12-4), striking out nine, while allowing three hits and one walk.
For Jacobs (8-14, 3-9), Kyle Washington went 2 for 3. Andrew Balkcom pitched five innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out four.
McHenry 10, Dundee-Crown 0 (5 inn.): At McHenry, the Warriors broke open an FVC win with seven runs in the fourth inning.

Burlington Central 5, Richmond-Burton 3: At Richmond, R-B's Luke Uhwat went 1 for 2 with two RBIs and a run scored in a KRC loss. Burlington Central (14-8, 10-1) now has a four-game lead in the loss column over second-place R-B (12-12, 9-5).
R-B’s Clayton Jarocki went 2 for 4. Hayden Christiansen went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Connor Donohoe suffered the loss, pitching five innings. He allowed five earned runs and struck out four.
Marian Catholic 8, Marian Central 2: At Chicago Heights, a six-run second inning boosted Marian Catholic past Marian Central in East Suburban Catholic Conference play.
For the Hurricanes (5-12, 0-8), Sam Lavin, Mason Schwalbach and Alex Eschenbacher each recorded two hits. Ben Schneider pitched two scoreless innings in relief, striking out two.

South’s No. 3 doubles team of Sam Palmer and Carson O’Connor capped off the dual victory with a win, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, over Ohm Patel and Mark Kuechenberg.
