Harvard fire district alerting residents of phone scam

The Harvard Fire Protection District is alerting residents of a phone scam involving an individual attempting to solicit donations.

On Tuesday, administrative assistant Jeri Loiselle said one of the fire district’s employees received a fraudulent call from someone acting as a representative to the “Harvard Volunteer Fire Association” to request donations.

"The Harvard Fire Protection District wants to make clear that we will not solicit donations through telephone calls and that this fake organization is not, in any way, affiliated with the Harvard Fire Protection District of the Harvard Fire and Rescue Association,” Loiselle said in an email.

Loiselle advised anyone who received a call like this to call the Harvard Police Department at 815-943-4431.
