Deerpass Road between Route 176 and River Road is open to traffic.
The year-long project replaced two 52-year-old bridges over the Kishwaukee River with a single bridge, according to a news release from the McHenry County Division of Transportation. The new bridge is 456 feet long and has 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot shoulders.
The bridge is located northeast of Marengo.
Glendale Heights-based Dunnet Bay Construction completed the $3.78 million project. Eighty percent was paid for by the Federal Highway Administration and 20% was paid for by McHenry County, according to the release.
Landscaping work still is ongoing.
