To the Editor:
For years, Republicans have claimed the moral high ground; however, they have abandoned that position and now find themselves at the bottom.
This occurred with their decision to embrace President Donald Trump and his boorish behavior.
The lies, vulgar language, name-calling and lack of acceptable demeanor one would expect from a president not seem to matter to most Republicans. What appears to be the most important is stacking the Supreme Court with as many right-wing judges as possible.
One of those right-wing judges is Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who demonstrated his bias and lack of emotional control during his confirmation hearings.
After supporting and defending the actions of Trump, it will be extremely difficult for Republicans to regain that moral high ground.
