A Woodstock man and woman remained at the McHenry County Jail on Saturday morning after police said they found the pair in possession of firearms, ammunition and more than $12,000 worth of cocaine, Ecstasy and marijuana.
Shakiara S. Smith and Joe Joe D. Hymon, both of the 2100 block of Willow Brooke Drive, were arrested Friday morning.
Both Smith, 24, and Hymon, 26, are accused of possessing almost 3 ounces of cocaine, 69 Ecstasy tablets and about 5 pounds of marijuana, according to separate criminal complaints.
Police also found 50 THC cannabis vaporizer cartridges on the pair, according to the complaints.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $12,971, court records show.
Both Smith and Hymon face charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and marijuana; possession of Ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia; and possession of a firearm without a firearm owner’s identification card.
Hymon also faces charges of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card, and Smith faces an added charge of obstructing justice.
Their bonds are set at $125,000 and $100,000, respectively.
They each could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charge.
In addition to the drugs, Smith and Hymon also were in possession of a 9 mm handgun and firearm ammunition, according to the complaints.
Smith also is accused of removing evidence from her home in an attempt to conceal it from police, one complaint stated.
Both are due in court Tuesday.
