IDOT: Daily lane, shoulder closures on Route 31 in McHenry to begin June 17

Drivers should expect delays

McHenry area drivers will begin to see daily lane and shoulder closures on Route 31 beginning June 17, the Illinois Department of Transportation has announced.

IDOT plans to begin a culvert replacement project on Route 31 between West Lillian and Anne streets in McHenry. Construction should be complete by November, according to IDOT.

Temporary traffic signals will be installed at Lillian Street and Route 31. From late June through the end of the project, a wide load restriction will be in place. Staging will be done to minimize the impact to traffic, according to IDOT.

Motorists can expect delays. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment, according to IDOT.
