Anthony Moretti, who previously worked as an assistant girls basketball coach at Crystal Lake South, is set to take over as Cary-Grove’s girls coach.
Moretti is listed on the District 155 school board agenda among the coaches and extra-curricular assignments to be voted on at Tuesday night’s meeting.
If approved, Moretti will replace Rod Saffert, who recently announced he was stepping down after 13 seasons as head coach. Saffert’s teams were 248-135 in those years and won six Class 4A regional championships.
Most of the coaching positions listed on the agenda are for assistants, although Matt LePage is listed as the new boys golf coach at Crystal Lake Central. LePage is South’s head boys basketball coach.
LePage's wife, Marissa, also is on the agenda. She is resigning her position as South's head girls track and field coach.
