The Cary Park District's Summer Celebration will start at 6:30 p.m on Wednesday, July 3 at Lions Park, 1200 Silver Lake Road. The band “Coverlicious” which ranges from rock, classic rock, pop, funk and country will play from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m, and fireworks will start shortly after. Admission is free. The Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce parade will start at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. It will start at city hall, go down Dole Avenue, and end at the Lakeside Festival Grounds.
The Crystal Lake fireworks celebration and concert will be from 2:30 to 10 p.m. on July 7 at Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive. The gate will open at 9 a.m. Regular beach admission applies from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. After 2:30 p.m., admission will be $3 per person. The rain date is July 14. Lakeside Festival runs July 4 through 7 at 401 Country Club Road. This four day event will be full of music, food, and carnival rides. Four-day wristbands are on sale online for $15 till July 1, after that wristbands will cost $20. Celebrate Fox Lake was held on Saturday, June 29. Festivities will start at 4 p.m with a parade down Grand Avenue. There will be performances from Karma Committee and 7th Heaven at Lakefront Park, 71 Nippersink Boulevard, and fireworks at dusk. There will be food, beverages and family activities. Fox River Grove
Rock the River Fireworks Celebration will start at 2:30 p.m on Saturday, July 6 at Picnic Grove Park, 598 Birch Lane. The first band, Judson Brown will perform at 3 p.m. followed by Six Speed Tranny at 6 p.m. There will be food, drinks and kid's activities. Fireworks will start after dusk. Admission is free. The Huntley Independence Day Fireworks show will start with Party in the Park at 6 p.m on Thursday, July 4 at Deicke Park, 11419 Route 47. Music will be provided from Huntley Community Radio, 101.5 FM. Fireworks will be at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. The rain date will be July 5. The Independence Day parade and picnic will start at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 starting at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.,and ending at Veterans Park, 316 Island Drive. This will be followed by a picnic at 11 a.m to 2 p.m in Veterans Park, 316 Island Drive.
There will be hot dogs and chips for free, along with face painting by Fabulous Faces, bounce houses from Bella's Bouncies, and music from DJ Jules.
The Pistakee Bay Fireworks celebration will start at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 at the Oak Park Lounge, 801 Oak Grove Road. There will be food, drinks, and live music from Ivy Ford and Cover Girls. The Marengo-Union Chamber of Commerce fireworks show will be on Saturday, June 29. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and fireworks will start at dusk at Marengo High School, 110 Franks Road. Residents can sit on the bleachers to watch the show. Concessions and the ice cream truck will be open at 8 p.m. A 50/50 raffle will help to offset the cost of the fireworks display. Jaycee Day will be from 4 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 at Peterson Park, 4300 Peterson Park Road. Tickets will be $5 per car, including five tickets at entry. Additional passengers will be $1. All others are $1 and children under 3 are free. There will be temporary tattoos for $2 and the kid zone which will include a bounce house. Tickets for games will be $0.50 per ticket or $5 for 15. The 50/50 raffle will be $1 per ticket or $5 for 6, the winner will be drawn before the fireworks. Music will be played by DJ Clinto from Star 105.5. Spring Grove’s fireworks will be done by Pistakee Bay Fireworks, they will begin at 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. The Wonder Lake Patriotic Celebration will kick off with Venetian Night starting after dusk on Friday, July 5. Watch illuminated boats parade around the lake. Anyone can join the parade. The weekend will continue on Saturday, July 6 with the parade, which starts at 1:30 p.m on Hancock Drive. At 4:30 p.m the Wonder Lake Water Show Ski Team will be performing at Wonder Center Beach, by Hancock Drive and East Lake Shore Drive.
This will be followed by a new event at 6:30 p.m, live music done by Mother Earth the Band, at Dockside deck. The fireworks will take place at dusk over the lake. They will be launched from a barge between West Bay and Center Beach to allow visibility on and off the water. Boaters be aware of the barge if on the water at this time. Wonder Center Beach has been opened up by the Wonder Center Property Owners Association for this event.
Festivities will end on Sunday July 7 with free pontoon rides from 2 to 4 p.m around Wonder Lake. Boarding will be at the Wonder Lake Marina dock.
