To the Editor:
I’d like to correct some misinformation that was included in a recent letter to the editor.
Dorr Township is asking township voters whether it should purchase 10 acres adjacent to the highway garage on Davis Road so they can set up a drop-off recycling facility for local residents. The recycling drop-off would take up about 1 acre of the 10-acre property. The township approached The Land Conservancy of McHenry County to see if it would help them restore the other 9 acres to habitat for local wildlife and residents to enjoy.
The Land Conservancy is a local 501c3 nonprofit organization that works with landowners to help them preserve and restore land for the benefit of people and nature. If the township purchases the land on Davis Road, TLC looks forward to helping it restore the land for the benefit of people and local wildlife.
Dorr residents who would like a drop-off recycling facility in Woodstock should attend the town meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Township Building on Lake Street.
