Crews hit gas line in Crystal Lake

Crews working near Route 31 and Three Oaks Road struck a gas line about 6 p.m. Wednesday, releasing a strong odor in the area.

Crystal Lake Fire Dept. Lt Jim Sustek said a gas company was line boring under Route 31 and hit a natural gas line. The odor could be smelled in and around the area.

He said there was no danger and the gas was well ventilated.
