An Elgin woman was injured in a Friday morning crash in Crystal Lake, police said.
Crystal Lake police and the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue District were dispatched to Route 31 and Tek Drive after a report of a crash about 9:45 a.m., Crystal Lake Sgt. Dan Porzezinski said.
The crash occurred when Alicia Delgado of Elgin tried to turn left to travel north on Route 31 from Tek Drive, Porzezinski said. Delgado was driving a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander.
A 2004 Ford Escape was traveling south on Route 31 when Delgado pulled out into the road, and the vehicles collided, Porzezinski said.
Delgado was taken to Northwestern Memorial McHenry Hospital. The driver of the Ford was not injured, Porzezinski said.
Delgado was cited for failing to yield.
No passengers were involved in the crash, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The incident slowed traffic in the area while an investigation was conducted.
