McHenry police, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District and Flight For Life were dispatched to an ALDI on Monday afternoon after a woman in her late 70s fell in the store and hit her head on the ground, officials said.
Police were dispatched about 4 p.m. to ALDI at 2226 N. Richmond Road in McHenry, McHenry police public information officer Patrick Polidori said.
Polidori said the woman was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The woman suffered a traumatic brain injury, said Kevin Sears, a battalion chief with the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.
Flight For Life was called as the woman’s condition warranted her to be treated at a Level I trauma center, he said.
“The paramedics found her on the ground when they arrived,” Sears said.
