Worth noting: The Tigers won their sixth straight Fox Valley Conference Tournament and ninth straight McHenry County Tournament. ... Central took second at regionals, led by a runner-up finish from Lyne with a 76. Lyne, the 2017 and 2018 Northwest Herald Girls Golfer of the Year, advanced to the Class 2A state tournament for the third straight year, tying for 15th. She took first at conference with an even-par 72, second at county, second at regionals and sixth at sectionals. ... Petersen, a Northwest Herald All-Area second-team pick, was fourth at county and ninth at the FVC Meet. ... The Tigers graduated state qualifier Kat Bevill, an All-Area first-team pick.

Dundee-Crown

Worth noting: The Chargers will look for a new No. 1 after losing their top golfer, Alyssa Trebat, to graduation. Trebat, an All-Area honorable mention, took 12th at conference and qualified for sectionals for the second year in a row. ... D-C almost doubled its roster size with the addition of four seniors and two freshmen.

Hampshire

Coach: Sue Ellett (ninth season)

Last season: Fifth at FVC Tournament

Top returners: Gianna Farinella, sr.; Delaney Marcuccilli, sr.; Alexis Konajeski, sr.

Worth noting: Marcuccilli qualified for sectionals for the first time, and Farinella was the team's top scorer at the FVC Tournament. ... The Whip-Purs finished fifth at the FVC Tournament after taking sixth the previous two seasons. ... Ellett is hoping to get multiple individuals to sectionals this year. ... "Look for our two seasoned seniors, Gianna and Delaney, to go out and put up two solid scores," Ellett said. "Gianna has worked hard to improve her tournament scoring."

Huntley

Coach: Ann Christiansen (11th season)

Worth noting: Matustik earned medalist honors at the McHenry County Tournament to lead the Red Raiders to second place, 11 shots behind Crystal Lake Central co-op. Matustik, an All-Area second-team pick, was fourth at the FVC Tournament and made it to sectionals. ... Shaffer was named All-Area honorable mention, placing seventh at both county and conference. ... Stephenson earned all-county honors, taking 12th. ... "I think we have a good shot [at the FVC title], and we'll be very competitive," Christiansen said.

Jacobs

Coach: Megan Placko (sixth season)

Last season: Second at FVC Tournament

Top returners: Lauren Kempf, sr.; Roslyn Leitner, sr.; Jordan Miller, jr.

Worth noting: The Golden Eagles were eight shots behind Crystal Lake Central co-op at the FVC Tournament for second ... Kempf was an All-Area second-team pick, taking sixth at county, third at conference with a 79 and falling four shots short of a state berth with an 83 at sectionals. ... Leitner was an All-Area honorable mention, taking fifth at county, fifth at the FVC Meet and making her second straight sectional appearance. ... "We have strong leadership in our returning upperclassmen, and I'm looking forward to seeing how our team comes together," Placko said.

McHenry

Coach: Sean Sterner (seventh season)

Last season: Sixth at FVC Tournament

Top returners: Sarah Fergus, sr.; Jocelyn Currie, sr.; Carly Wolf, sr.; Kelsey Morrison, sr.; Sydney Shea, sr.

Key newcomers: Alexis Wirch, jr.

Worth noting: Fergus was named to the All-FVC team for the second straight year, finishing 11th overall. She also was McHenry's only sectional qualifier. ... The Warriors placed sixth at county. ... "We have five returning varsity players who all work hard and have great attitudes," Sterner said. "I'm excited to see how they grow throughout the season."

Prairie Ridge

Coach: Sara Kazlauskas (second season)

Last season: Third at FVC Tournament

Top returners: Katie Gilmore, sr.; Alexis Baron, sr.; Joie Gindorf, sr.; Elizabeth Tucker, so.

Worth noting: The Wolves won a Class 2A regional title and had the most All-FVC members of any team, with five placing in the top 14. ... Prairie Ridge lost three of its top golfers (Morgan Taylor, Grace VanHyfte and Sophia Pascente) to graduation. Taylor was an All-Area second-team selection, and VanHyfte was named All-Area honorable mention. . ... Gilmore was 10th at the FVC Tournament and Tucker was 14th. ... ... "Many of the girls have worked incredibly hard this summer and have come ready to play," Kazlauskas said. "We graduated three seniors who made a huge impact, but we've added some excellent incoming freshmen."

KISHWAUKEE RIVER CONFERENCE

Harvard

Coach: Doug Sijersen (11th season)

Worth noting: The Hornets went 10-4 in duals and took runner-up at conference and regionals. It was the second time that Harvard qualified for sectionals in program history. ... McMillan, an All-Area honorable mention, Ackland, Chupich and Brookner made the All-KRC team, while McMillan, Ackland and Brookner were sectional qualifiers for the second straight season. ... "Our confidence level is really high," Sijersen said. "We have also had a big turnout of new players with a lot of potential, and we’re excited to see how far we can go."

Johnsburg

Coach: Chris O'Niel (11th season)

Worth noting: The Skyhawks won their first regional title in school history. Johnson was runner-up individually with an 83. Berthoud, Blake and Ceara Mulvey, the team's only 2019 graduate, rounded out the scoring. ... The Skyhawks took fourth at sectionals, missing the third and last state-qualifying spot by 15 shots. ... Johnson earned All-Area first-team honors after making her first state appearance. She was sixth at sectionals and had an 89 in the first round at state but did not advance to the second round. ... Berthoud placed 10th at conference. ... "The girls hope to compete for a KRC title and a spot in Decatur in October," O'Niel said.

Marengo

Coach: Chad Olson (second season)

Last season: Fifth at KRC Tournament

Top returners: Carlie Seemann, sr.; Brooke Aubry, sr.; Adriana Georgiades, sr.

Worth noting: Marengo, which took 10th at county, returns all but one from last year's roster. ... Seemann was the team's top scorer at conference and is one of two sectional qualifiers, along with Aubry. Georgiades qualified for sectionals as a junior. Seemann qualified as a sophomore. ... "We're fortunate to have solid senior leadership with all three having sectional experience," Olson said. "I'm looking forward to them putting together a great senior year." ... The Indians return three sophomores, in addition to four freshmen.

Richmond-Burton

Coach: Brandon Creason (11th season)

Last season: Sixth at KRC Tournament

Worth noting: The Rockets graduated their No. 1 golfer, Lauryn Davis, who advanced to the Class 1A state meet for the second year and tied for 16th overall. She tied for third at the KRC Tournament. She was the only individual to medal at county in each of the past four years and only sectional qualifier for the Rockets last season. ... R-B took ninth at county.

EAST SUBURBAN CATHOLIC CONFERENCE

Marian Central

Coach: Erin Carver (fifth season)

Last season: Fifth at ESCC Tournament

Top returners: Lauren McNulty, jr.; Ava Notaro, so.

Key newcomers: Jamie Foster, jr.; Danielle Vance, jr.; Jasmine Stevens, so.

Worth noting: Five seniors graduated, leaving the Hurricanes with only five players for the 2019 season. Marian was among the top teams in the area last year, finishing third at the county meet, led by McNulty with a 10th-place finish. ... McNulty was the team's top finisher at conference, taking eighth at the ESCC Tournament. She was one of two all-conference members for Marian, along with graduate Kelly Anderson. McNulty, an All-Area honorable mention, qualified for sectionals.
