Crystal Lake Central sophomore Eric Klutke shot a 4-over-par 76 Thursday at Boulder Ridge Country Club to lead the Tigers to the Crystal Lake South Invitational title in Lake in the Hills.
Central's team score of 325 beat runner-up Crystal Lake South (327) by two shots. Prairie Ridge took third with a 328.
Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers were Bayden Hubacher (82), Dominic Hooper (83) and Quinn Hankins (84). John Lischynsky was runner-up individually and led South with a 77, followed by Will Stewart (80) and Spencer Shireman (84). Ricky Falbo and Jack Roberts both had 86s.
Prairie Ridge's Eddie Winkelmann was third with a 78. Connor Hamilton (81), Grant Klepitsch (82) and Bailey Lazar (87) rounded out the Wolves' scoring.
Cary-Grove and Dundee-Crown tied for fourth, both shooting 338. Huntley (339) was sixth, Jacobs (350) was seventh and Hampshire (372) was eighth.
Jake Zirlin and Matt McQuillen led D-C with 81s. C-G's Trevor Beaugureau, Huntley's Danny Sheedy and Hampshire's Payton Yee each recorded 82s, and Jacobs' Andrew Rechtsteiner had an 83.
McHenry 167, Wauconda 212: At McHenry Country Club, Truman Keppy fired an even-par 35 to earn medalist honors for the Warriors (1-0) in a nonconference win. McHenry had the four lowest scores.
Mason McCormick had a 42, Ryan Peters shot a 43, and Liam Nielsen had a 47.
