Cary-Grove senior Cole Seeger celebrated a fairly memorable 18th birthday Wednesday.
Seeger shot 39 to earn medalist as the Trojans defeated Crystal Lake Central, 168-182, in their Fox Valley Conference dual match at Foxford Hills.
Joey Vitullo added a 40 for the Trojans. Eric Klutke led the Tigers with a 40.
Hampshire 205, Dundee-Crown 285: At West Dundee, Gianna Farinella shot 46 and Delaney Marcuccilli added a 47 as the Whip-Purs beat the Chargers in their FVC match at Randall Oaks.
Sonora Rodriguez led D-C with a 68.
Burlington Central 185, Crystal Lake Central co-op 207: At Lakewood, Renata Petersen shot 41 for medalist, but the Tigers fell to the Rockets in their FVC match at Turnberry Country Club. Abby Rubsam added a 50 for the Tigers.
Huntley 174, Prairie Ridge 218: At Johnsburg, Katie Matustik shot 40 and Nina Shaffer added a 42 as the Red Raiders beat the Wolves in their FVC match at Chalet Hills.
Molly Bakier and Lorelei Oomens each had a 46. Elizabeth Tucker led Prairie Ridge with a 42.
Jacobs 190, McHenry 195: At West Dundee, Lauren Kempf shot 40 and Roslyn Leitner had a 41 to lead the Golden Eagles past the Warriors in their FVC match at Randall Oaks.
Sarah Fergus shot 46 to lead McHenry, Jocelyn Currie had a 49.
Crystal Lake South 6, Belvidere 0: At Crystal Lake, Colton Weidner and Taylor Getzinger each scored twice as the Gators (2-0) defeated the Bucs in their nonconference game.
Sabien Raymond and Tomasz Slawek each scored a goal. Alex Canfield had three assists and Danny Ciezadlo had two assists. Carson Hill had three saves in goal.
Jacobs 6, Grant 3: At Fox Lake, Liam Armstrong and Ruban Zarate each scored twice as the Golden Eagles (1-0) defeated the Bulldogs.
Johnny O’Connor had a goal and two assists and Alex Nicastro added another goal for Jacobs.
St. Charles North 2, Huntley 0: At Huntley, the Red Raiders (0-1-1) fell to the North Stars in their nonconference match.
Marian Central 2, Belvidere North 0: At Woodstock, Gretchen Graff had 10 assists and five digs in a season-opening win, 25-17, 25-14, for the Hurricanes (1-0). Grace Holian had three kills and an ace and Gabby Davis added three kills.
Huntley 2, Carmel 0: At Huntley, Taylor Jakubowski had 21 assists and Emma Konie had seven kills to lead the Red Raiders (2-0) past the Corsairs in their nonconference match.
Josie Schmitendorf had 10 digs for Huntley.
Winnebago 2, Harvard 0: At Winnebago, Aylia Lemus had three kills as the Hornets fell to the Indians, 27-25, 25-12, in their nonconference match.
Dianayeli Plata had six digs and Alex Cooke had three assists for Harvard.
Antioch 2, Richmond-Burton 0: At Richmond, Jordyn Duncan had nine kills and two digs as the Rockets lost to the Sequoits, 25-17, 25-22, in their nonconference match.
Sammy Duncan had three kills, one block and five digs for R-B. Jesse Klicker had 16 assists.
Huntley 6, Belvidere North 1: At Huntley, Ruhi Gulati (No. 1), Elaina Hibbeler (No. 2) and Allesandra Rivera (No. 3) swept through the singles matches as the Red Raiders defeated the Blue Thunder in a nonconference match.
Woodstock 4, McHenry 3: At Woodstock, the Blue Streaks held off the Warriors in two crucial three-set matches for the nonconference victory.
At No. 1 singles, Woodstock’s Ashley Peralta outlasted Katrina Neufeld, 6-3, 2-6, 10-5, for the victory. At No. 3 doubles, the Streaks’ Brooke Wolf and Hannah Wieterman nipped Alex Fogleman and Brooke Langfeld, 4-6, 6-4, 11-9.
Woodstock North 7, Round Lake 0: At Round Lake, the Thunder (6-1) picked up the first sweep of the season against the Panthers.
Aly Cullotta, Sophia Ferru and Kaitlyn Mauck won at singles for North. Juliana Conrad and Lydia Dunker, Ale Galindo and Anika Treadway, Gaby Galindo and Bethany Lintner, and Elle Lagerstrom and Mariam Syed won at doubles.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Grant Meet: At Fox Lake, Richmond-Burton’s Ethan Luedke finished fifth in 18:19 at the five-team race. Mitch Elder was 33rd.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Grant Meet: At Fox Lake, Jane Wisniewski was sixth and Amanda Allport was eighth as the Rockets tied for first with Carmel at 57 points in the five-team meet. The Corsairs won the tiebreaker with a better sixth-place finish.
Catherine Miller was 12th, Victoria Rockwell was 15th and Lilly Alberts was 16th for R-B.
