Letter: The township bus

To the Editor:

About 300 attended the McHenry Township meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8 g. The bus for senior and disabled people is important. Without it, people can't get to doctors' appointments, the food pantry or other shopping needs.

Trustees Mike Rakestraw, Bob Anderson and Steve Verr don't want the services for people in need. Thant want power, no heat. We pay less than $8 per year on our tax bills. The bus service is already paid until spring.

You would think, with all the people at the meeting, the three trustees would change their vote. Mr. Craig Adams, our township supervisor, works so hard, he keeps the meetings in order. He did a great job of keeping them in order.

All of our township people work so hard and do a wonderful job. Why these men are in office, no one knows. They are to help the people, not hurt them. I spoke up at the meetings, trying to put the trustees in the shoes of those in neeed. This is a free country, let's keep it that way and not have three men hurt so many in need.
