To the Editor:
I have lived in the Lake in the Hills area for over 40 years, including a previous scandal years ago involving the LITH Sanitation District and embezzeled funds. Now nude photos stored in an employee’s work computer. Are the taxpayers being billed for the $34,000 in funds by the district?
Why are we spending this money on inapproporiate behavior? In the private sector, this would be handled by the human resource unit and if you were found in violation with company policy, you would be fired. End of story.
Most companies you sign a code of ethics for being responsible for your behavior as well as computer, phone, applications etc that belong to the corporation.
Also, with many companies you cannot even talk about them on Facebook or other social media or you will be fired. Doesn’t Lake in the Hills have their employees sign a code of ethics when they are hired and whom will take action against them?
This article is very embarrassing to me, living in this village, that we employ such people that have nothing better to do than look at nude photos/download them to their computers.
We need to spend the money to keep the sanitary district wastewater flowing and the sewer system. It seems like we need to clean up the waste first that sits behind the desk in the department itself. What kind of message are we sending to the younger generation in our schools and workforce?
