Crystal Lake South's Alex Canfield scored twice in the second half to finish off a hat trick as the Gators and Dundee-Crown played to a 4-4 draw Thursday in Fox Valley Conference action in Carpentersville.
Garett Schneider also scored and recorded an assist for South (10-3-3, 4-0-1 FVC). Colton Weidner had two assists, and goalkeeper Carson Hill made five saves.
Julian Saldaña scored twice for D-C (10-4-1, 4-1-1), Ronald Dearborn had a goal and three assists, and Jason Miller scored once. Venancio Mejia made four saves, and Nathan Becker made three saves.
Marian Central 2, Westminster Christian 0: At Woodstock, Christopher Ghita scored twice to lead the Hurricanes to a nonconference win on senior night.
Jonathan DePrey was credited with an assist, and Caleb Taylor made eight saves in goal for the shutout.
Crystal Lake Central 2, Huntley 1: At Huntley, the Tigers scored twice on corner kicks in the first half to earn the FVC victory.
Jake Nelson picked up the assist on both goals, while Mason Pfeifer and Aidan Hudak were credited with the scores. Keeper Joey Moore made six saves for Central (7-4, 4-2).
Josh Guyer scored for the Red Raiders (6-8-1, 1-4), and Ethan Kornas made six saves.
Cary-Grove 1, McHenry 1: At Cary, Spencer Bethers scored with an assist from Dario Gamboa for C-G in the FVC draw.
Jacobs 2, Hampshire 0: At Hampshire, Maggie Wallenberger recorded 11 kills, six digs and three aces to lead the Golden Eagles (8-9, 5-7) to the FVC win over the Whip-Purs (7-10-1, 2-10).
Kristen Wilson and Ireland Van Stone each added six kills, Rachel Kaczorowski had four aces, and Maddie Breeze had 12 digs.
Cary-Grove 2, Crystal Lake South 1: At Cary, the Trojans rallied to the FVC win, 17-25, 25-18, 25-20, after dropping the opening set.
Jenna Splitt supplied C-G (14-5, 9-3) with 10 kills and two aces, Tricia Kennedy had five blocks, Lauren Passaglia provided 14 assists, and Mia Soltis had 12 digs.
For South (9-8, 6-6), Jessie Proszenyak had five kills, two blocks and four aces. Sam Wesoly put away 12 kills, and Jenna Rhoades had 16 digs and 16 assists.
Harvest Christian 2, Alden-Hebron 0: At Elgin, the Giants lost in straight sets, 25-3, 25-5, in Northeastern Athletic Conference competition.
Huntley 2, McHenry 0: At Huntley, the Red Raiders remained unbeaten in FVC play with their win over the Warriors, 25-17, 25-23.
Emma Konie had a team-high nine kills along with two blocks and two aces for Huntley (14-0, 12-0). Kylie Jenkins had six kills, nine digs and two aces, Taylor Jakubowski had 19 assists and eight assists, and Josie Schmitendorf had 12 digs.
McHenry fell to 15-8 overall and 4-8 in the FVC.
Huntley 7, Dundee-Crown 0: At Carpentersville, the Red Raiders swept their FVC dual against the Chargers.
Ruhi Gulati (No. 1), Elaina Hibbeler (No. 2) and Alessandra Rivera (No. 3) all won in singles. Michelle Barnvos and Kylie Phommasack (No. 1), Talia Duffy and Dyllan Cash (No. 2), Emily Chong and Kareena Patel (No. 3) and Ela Hontanosas and Sunni Kwon (No. 4) won in doubles.
Jacobs 6, Crystal Lake Central 1: At Algonquin, Lissie Kontos and Bryn Reicha teamed up at No. 4 doubles and pulled out a tight win, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, to close out the FVC victory for the Golden Eagles.
Chloe Siegfort (No. 1), Kaya Trumbo (No. 2) and Isha Desai (No. 3) won in singles. Lindsay Cunningham and Lara Santa-Ines (No. 1) and Alison Gerhardt and Samantha Seibert (No. 3) also won in doubles for Jacobs.
Central's No. 2 doubles pairing of Haley Steinberg and Haley Bernard provided the Tigers with a win.
Crystal Lake South 5, Prairie Ridge 2: At Prairie Ridge, the Gators won three of four doubles matches to seal the FVC win.
Hannah Schuetzle and Anna Chang won at No. 1 doubles. Abby Enck and Christina Lin pulled out a 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (8) win at No. 3 doubles. Dhruvi Mehta and Marissa Baietto won, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, at No. 4 doubles. Lizzy Sudbrook and Morgan Lowery won in singles for South.
For Prairie Ridge, Macy Biggam won at No. 1 singles, while Sarah Pollastrini and Lauren Pokonosky won, 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4), at No. 2 doubles.
Marian Central 165, Johnsburg 184: At Chapel Hill in McHenry, the Hurricanes earned a nonconference win.
Quinton Urban, Dylan Yegge and Daniel Stumpf each shot 41 for the Hurricanes.
Tyler Malueg led Johnsburg with a 41, Mike Link shot 46, and Nick Thill had a 47.
Crystal Lake co-op 100.5, McHenry 67.5: At McHenry, Crystal Lake picked up an FVC dual win.
For McHenry, Melisa Nava won the 200 individual medley (2:17.35) and the 100 freestyle (55.35). Paige Bantner took first in the 50 free (27.30).
Nava and Bantner teamed with Andrea Avila and Riley Tobin to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:57.40).
