Jacobs' Maggie Wallenberger posted eight kills and 15 digs Thursday to lead the Golden Eagles to a 25-15, 25-17 Fox Valley Conference win against Dundee-Crown in Carpentersville.
Maddie Breeze had 10 digs and two aces for Jacobs (12-14, 7-9 FVC), Ireland Van Stone posted seven kills and one ace, and Rachel Kaczorowski had 22 assists and three aces. Jaclyn Poirier and Kristen Wilson had five kills apiece. Poirier added three blocks.
Makena Wesol had eight kills to lead D-C (6-16, 3-13), and Natalia Smiech had six. Jenna Brown had 13 assists, Mia Seaton had nine digs to lead the defense, and Tealyn Kamp added two aces and a block.
Crystal Lake Central 2, Crystal Lake South 0: At Crystal Lake, the visiting Tigers beat the Gators, 25-7, 25-18, to stay one match behind FVC leader Huntley with two matches remaining. Olivia Anderson had seven kills and four blocks, and Karina Simatos added 15 digs for Central (26-2, 14-2).
Jenna Rhoades had 14 assists for South (16-11, 8-8), Sam Wesoly had eight kills, Meg Langdon had three blocks, and Kelly Carlson had six digs.
South Beloit 2, Harvard 0: At South Beloit, Desiree Brady recorded 21 digs and eight kills for the Hornets (2-26) in a nonconference loss to the Sobos, 25-22, 32-30. Aylia Lemus had five kills, Hannah Saucedo had 13 digs and two aces, and Dianayeli Plata added 19 digs. Also for Harvard, Asha Billstrand posted four kills, and Alex Cooke had nine assists.
Marian Central 2, Johnsburg 0: At Johnsburg, the Hurricanes (6-20) picked up a 25-22, 25-18 nonconference win over the Skyhawks (7-20). Jenna Golembiewski had eight kills and two blocks for Marian. Grace Kramer had seven kills, Grace Holian had five kills and eight digs, Gretchen Graff had 21 assists, and Ingrid Reyes had three aces.
Alex Burke had eight kills for Johnsburg, Hayley Schmidt added three kills and an ace, Shannon Flynn had five digs, and Makayla Huff added seven assists and an ace.
McHenry 2, Burlington Central 0: At McHenry, the Warriors moved to 21-11 and 7-9 in the FVC with a 25-19, 25-19 win over the Rockets (10-16, 2-14).
Cary-Grove 2, Hampshire 0: At Cary, the Trojans beat the Whip-Purs, 25-13, 25-11, in FVC action. C-G improves to 23-10 and 13-3 in the FVC. Hampshire falls to 10-22-1 and 2-14.
Prairie Ridge 2, Huntley 1: At Crystal Lake, Michael Thompson and Cade Collins scored for the Wolves in an FVC win against the Red Raiders. Owen Erickson made seven saves, and Dane Justesen added an assist for Prairie Ridge (9-7, 5-4).
Austin Killen scored for Huntley (9-10-1, 4-5). Ethan Kornas made six saves.
Crystal Lake South 1, Hampshire 0: At Hampshire, Carson Hill made 10 saves in the shutout for the Gators in an FVC victory against the Whips (13-9-2, 4-4-1). Alex Canfield scored in the second half for South (14-4-4, 7-1-1).
Woodstock 3, Burlington Central 0: At Burlington, the Blue Streaks recorded their 17th shutout, ending their regular season at 18-5.
Cary-Grove 106, McHenry 63: At McHenry, the Trojans placed first in six of 11 events to win the FVC dual meet against the Warriors. C-G's Emily Marks won the 100-yard freestyle, and Ayden Donfris won the 100 butterfly. Marks and Donfris also were on C-G's winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Lizzy Fournier was on both winning relays. Audrey Boldwyn was on the 200 medley relay, and Kelsey Harmsen was on the 200 free relay. Also winning for the Trojans were Maddie Dolezal (200 free) and Olivia Willis (50 free).
Melisa Nava won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke and was on the Warriors' winning 400 free relay with Andrea Avila, Kristina Robinson and Riley Tobin. Kristina Robinson won the 100 backstroke. Tobin won the 500 free.
