Two drivers were taken to the hospital after a car crash on Sunday in Cary.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of the crash at 10:12 a.m.
A 2015 GMC Canyon, driven by a 24-year-old Cary woman, was driving north on Silver Lake Road when she suffered a medical event, McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers said on Monday. This caused the driver to lose consciousness and swerve into the southbound lane of traffic. There, the GMC struck a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by an 83-year-old Palatine woman. The GMC then struck a utility pole.
Both drivers were taken to Advocate Good Shepherd with minor injuries, Rogers said. No citations were issued.
