McHenry junior forward Katie Beyer posted her second consecutive double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds in a 50-30 win over Maine East at the Maine East Thanksgiving Tournament on Thursday in Park Ridge.
Beyer had 11 field goals, including a 3-pointer, and went 2 for 4 on free throws. Ava Interrante had 13 points and made all four of her free throws for McHenry (2-0). Ashley Wachter had 10 points and two 3s.
Beyer had 25 points and 15 rebounds in a season-opening win over Riverside-Brookfield on Tuesday.
Prairie Ridge 46, DeKalb 39: At the Burlington Central Thanksgiving Tournament, the Wolves (1-1) jumped out to a 17-1 lead in the first quarter and held on for their first victory of the season.
Karsen Karlblom had a game-high 15 points, five rebounds and seven steals for the Wolves. Sam Gablenz had eight points and five rebounds, and Alana Mocchi tallied six rebounds.
DeKalb cut the Wolves' lead to 42-39 with 1:18 left. The teams combined for 55 turnovers. Prairie Ridge had 22.
"We said we're going to celebrate every win," Wolves coach Tim Taege said. "It doesn't matter how ugly it is. We just want to make sure we're on the right side of the scoreboard when it's all said and done. Ultimately, we got it done, and we'll try to get better every win."
Richmond-Burton 48, Belvidere 34: At the Wauconda Thanksgiving Tournament, Peyton Bannon had 20 points, and Rachel Baker added 14 for the Rockets (2-0) in a victory against the Bucs. Bannon had eight field goals and was 4 for 7 on free throws. Baker had a 3.
Harvard 35, IMSA 19: At the IMSA Thanksgiving Tournament in Aurora, Emma Ackland and Aylia Lemus had seven points apiece to lead the Hornets (1-1) to their first win. Lauren Shafer tossed in six points for Harvard.
Marengo 56, Rockford Jefferson 35: At the Burlington Central Thanksgiving Tournament, Jennifer Heinberg had a game-high 22 points and four 3-pointers for the Indians (2-0) in their win. Heinberg had 15 points in the first half and hit all four of her free throws.
Jordan Parker added 13 points, and Addie Johnson had eight.
St. Charles North 43, Hampshire 41: At the Hoffman Estates Invitational, Kelby Bannerman had 17 points and three 3s, but the Whip-Purs (0-2) fell short against the North Stars. Ceili Ramirez had six points, and Katie Del Re and Alyssa Cork had five points each.
St. Charles North outscored Hampshire, 12-5, in the fourth quarter.
Burlington Central 53, Woodstock North 17: At the Burlington Central Thanksgiving Tournament, the Thunder (1-2) were held to four second-half points by Burlington (3-0). Trinity Tillman had six points to lead North.
Buffalo Grove 62, Crystal Lake Central 28: At the Bison Classic in Buffalo Grove, Paige Keller tied for a game-high 16 points in a season-opening loss. Keller had seven rebounds, and Lily Penza had five for Central (0-1).

Hiawatha 34, Alden-Hebron 29: At the Elgin Academy Thanksgiving Tournament, the Giants dropped to 0-2 with a loss to the Hawks. Rachel Pahl led A-H with nine points, and Karly Strand and Abby Wanderer had eight points apiece.
Grayslake Central 45, Marian Central 26: At Grayslake, the Hurricanes (0-1) lost their season opener to the Rams.
McHenry 3,409, Grayslake North 2,692: At Raymond's Bowl in Johnsburg, the Warriors rolled their best match of the season against the Knights and moved to 4-1.
Drew Lichter (638), Aidan Barroso (633) and Myles Glab (631) led McHenry. Barroso had a high game of 258, Lichter had a high game of 246, and Glab had a high game of 231.
