The Thoughtfulness Shop at 104 Cass St. in Woodstock is closing after 21 years because its owners, Ceal and Ken Schroeder, are retiring.
“It means a lot to me. It is my livelihood,” Ceal Schroeder said Friday. “The Woodstock community has been very welcoming. This is just my livelihood, my love.”
She said the best part about the Thoughtfulness Shop has been watching their customers grow up.
“They came in with their babies, and now their babies are coming in. Time just flew by,” Ceal Schroeder said.
The Schroeders said they thank everyone for 21 years of support and friendship.
For its closing sale, Pandora, Vera Bradley, Brighton, Nora Fleming, Yankee candles, Woodstock wind chimes, Willow Tree, Department 56, Melissa and Doug toys, greeting cards, women’s accessories and other items are 33% to 80% off.
The shop will be open daily, except Christmas Day, until everything is sold.
It is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and
9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
After Christmas, regular store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays,
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to
4 p.m. Sundays.
