A Crystal Lake man and woman are due in a McHenry County courtroom Tuesday after police said officers seized more than $14,000 worth of cocaine, prescription medicine and marijuana from a McHenry Avenue home.
Colton J. Williams, 23, and McKenna Warchol, 20, each is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office investigation. Authorities said they seized $14,131 worth of those drugs.
Williams faces an additional charge of resisting a peace officer stemming from allegations that he fled out of the house’s back door when officers arrived Friday at his home, located in the 100 block of McHenry Avenue, court records show.
Officers seized a total of 9.48 grams of cocaine, 2 mg of Suboxone and more than a pound of marijuana, according to an affidavit filed with the McHenry County Circuit Clerk’s Office. Suboxone is a prescription medication commonly used to treat opioid use disorder, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The McHenry County Public Defender’s Office has been appointed in both cases.
Warchol was released from the McHenry County Jail on Monday morning after posting bail. She is due in court Tuesday. Meanwhile, Williams must post $8,000 to secure his release, records show. Williams’ case is scheduled for a bond hearing Tuesday morning.
