A 46-year-old Harvard woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to delivering drugs to a man who later died of an overdose.

Tiera Tracy entered a blind guilty plea Wednesday to delivery of a controlled substance – a felony typically punishable by four to 15 years in prison. The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office did not offer Tracy a specific sentence in exchange for her guilty plea; however, it did dismiss additional charges including drug-induced homicide and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance charges.

If the case had gone to trial and Tracy were convicted of the most serious charge, which is drug-induced homicide, she could have faced between six and 30 years in prison. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 3.

A Harvard Police Department investigation determined that Tracy delivered drugs Jan. 31, 2018, to 52-year-old Timothy Goluba, charging documents show. Goluba died during the early morning hours of Feb. 1, 2018, from a drug overdose. Authorities later determined it was a dose of heroin, morphine and fentanyl that ultimately killed the man.

Tracy, who had been free on bond since September 2018, was taken back to the McHenry County Jail after entering her plea Wednesday.
