To the Editor:
Judges in Mchenry County and throughout our nation should always be above politics. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case with far too many judges. Judge Justin Hansen of the McHenry County Circuit Court is different.
I have personally known Judge Hansen for many years and have previously used his legal services.
I know Judge Hansen to be a man of high moral values, a man of faith and a caring man of high integrity. Judge Hansen strives to always put integrity above politics, to reach a fair, reasoned decision for those who appear before him under very trying circumstances in family court. If we want a better judicial system, we need better judges. Justin Hansen is that kind of judge and person.
Judge Hansen is a family man, and uses both the law and his family experience to serve the people, especially our children, within McHenry County family court. His background is service to others, not politics. Previously, he has been an attorney for small businesses, individuals and some local municipalities.
Before that, he served on a non-profit Task Force on Family Violence, an organization providing services to victims of domestic violence. He helped pilot a program providing training to law enforcement, child protection services, school personnel and social workers on the effects on children witnessing domestic violence. As our county has seen in the recent past, we need dedicated people who will stand up and protect our children from violence. Judge Hansen is that man.
During the upcoming primary election, Judge Hansen is facing two long time politically connected people, more politics as usual in McHenry County. Every election we endure the continued recycling of connected politicians. The people of Mchenry County deserve so much better. Let’s get what we deserve by keeping Judge Hansen on the bench and keeping politics out of the courtroom.
Please join me in keeping Judge Hansen working on the bench here in Mchenry County. Vote for Judge Justin Hansen for Circuit Judge on Tuesday, March 17.
