Man found dead in Algonquin

A dead man was discovered by members of the Algonquin Police Department inside a vehicle parked in the area of 2700 W. Algonquin Road on Thursday.

The discovery of the deceased male was the result of officers assisting in the search for a missing person from a nearby community, police said.

An investigation into the subject’s death is being conducted, however, police said foul play is not suspected at this time. The name of the deceased male is being withheld, pending positive identification and proper notification of the family.

Algonquin Deputy Police Chief Ryan Markham declined to say where the missing person officers officers were originally searching for were from. He said any identifying information would have to come from the coroner's office.

McHenry County Lt. Coroner John Miller said he did not have any additional details at this time.
