Here are three McHenry County swimmers who impressed in Saturday’s Stevenson Sectional.

Quinn Cynor, Woodstock North co-op, jr.

Cynor put on a show with two pool records in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke. His 100 backstroke time of 49.53 broke Olympic medalist and 2003 Lake Forest graduate Matt Grevers' previous best of 50.57. Cynor will also swim next week at state with his 200 medley relay team: Gunner Dunnett, Nick Phillips and Aidan Teuber.

Peyton Richardson, Cary-Grove co-op, sr.

Richardson will make a return trip to state in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. He also was a part of the Trojans' state-qualifying 200 medley relay, along with Ben Castro, Cole Seeger and Michael Bartczyszyn.

Alec Orndahl, Jacobs co-op, sr.

Orndahl will make his state debut after qualifying in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. "It feels great. It's so satisfying having all of the hours pay off at this one big meet," Orndahl said.
