High school sports roundup for Saturday, Feb. 22

Huntley freshman Ben Rocks took second in the 100-yard freestyle at the IHSA St. Charles East Boys Swimming Sectional to qualify for next week’s state meet.

Rocks swam the race in 47.47 seconds to become the only state qualifier for the Red Raiders. South Elgin’s Alexander Schlueter clocked a 45.72 to win that race. Rocks edged St. Charles East’s Braden Clarke (47.62) for second.

Huntley finished fourth as a team with 138 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Warren 50, Jacobs 39: At Algonquin, Jaden Henderson tossed in 19 points as the Golden Eagles lost their nonconference game to the Blue Devils.

Jacobs fell to 16-13. The Eagles lost to Cary-Grove also by a 50-39 score on Friday.

Grayslake North 75, Woodstock 62: At Woodstock, Javi Garay scored 22 points, and Jeremiah Betts-Moses added 13 as the Blue Streaks (6-22) fell to the Knights in their nonconference game.

Tony Hines scored 25 to lead Grayslake North, and Dom Jankowski had 22.
