To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Judge Justin Hansen and his candidacy for circuit court judge in McHenry County.
I have gotten to know Judge Hansen and his wife through community events and our shared time on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters. It has been a pleasure to get to know him and to work should-to-shoulder with him for the benefit of the children in our community. He has my fully support in his efforts to remain on the bench.
I should point out, I don’t think that Judge Hansen and I always see eye-to-eye politically. But I have never once thought that a partisan divide has kept him from doing the right thing, in any situation, and it won’t keep me from supporting his judicial campaign.
Simply put, political differences don’t change that he is an excellent judge. I have no doubt that in his courtroom, he treats people the right way, he applies the law fairly, and he reaches a just result.
I have no doubt about this because I see it in the way he acts outside the courtroom. In our board meetings, he is prepared, quick to listen, and offers well-reasoned input. He actively seeks out the other side of the discussion. At community events, he doesn’t simply “work the room.”
He wants to get to know people, introduce himself, and build relationships that will benefit the organization and the community.
Judge Hansen has earned my support for circuit court judge, and I hope that he will have yours as well.
