To the Editor:
I resent McHenry Township Trustee Bob Anderson calling me and all the people who have signs on their front lawns saying “Vote No” to township consolidation pathetic. I gave out about 60 of those signs and all of them went to people who love the way our township runs. None of them have their fingers in “the cookie jar.”
You are now stooping to a new low and I thought that could not be done. If you don’t like our community why don’t you just move, I’m sure your customers will find another barber.
Again you are giving out half-truths, we are NOT getting a 10% reduction on our property tax bills, only the township portion of it. I would get about $10 off the bill and lose everything I love about this community.
And this would only be for the first year, then it would most likely go back up at an even higher amount. You know McHenry County is only required to keep up our roads – everything else will be lost. Who has the best roads around, county or township? We all know that answer, even some County Board members have said our township roads are the best in all of McHenry County.
You have become a man whose goal in life is to ruin something all of us with signs in our yards need and love. We raised the money for those signs with donations from people who want to keep our township, and neither you nor your cohorts will ever keep us down.
And speaking of “cookie jars,” how much of your pay have you donated to PADS like you promised when you got elected?. If you think trustees should not get paid (you voted to eliminate pay for future trustees) then you should put your money where your mouth is.
Thank you to all the people with signs, carry on the fight to save what we truly need and love.
