Women's college basketball: McHenry County College routs Wilbur Wright in postseason opener

McHenry County College's women's basketball team opened the postseason with an 87-33 win against Wilbur Wright College in the NJCAA Division II Region IV quarterfinals Wednesday in Crystal Lake.

Addie Ringel filled the scoresheet for the Scots with 12 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and six blocks. Alyssa Iverson had a game-high 29 points, Crystal Lake Central graduate Cori Hamill added 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists, and Kira Goral had 15 points and six rebounds. Grace Ozburn chipped in 14 points and four steals.

MCC (24-4) advances to play Kankakee in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby.

Iverson and Ringel were named to the All-Region IV team. Iverson was named the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Player of the Year. Iverson, Ringel, and Hamill were named to the All-ISCC team.
