Man trapped under fallen trees flown to hospital

A man was flown via Flight for Life Sunday morning to Advocate Condell Medical Center after suffering serious injuries when he became trapped beneath two fallen trees, according to the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.

The man was cutting trees at a private property on the 4800 block of Pioneer Road in McHenry Township when two trees fell on top of him resulting in critical injuries, Battalion Chief Kevin Sears said. About 11:20, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to the scene.

Some neighbors removed the trees with chainsaws before the fire district’s arrival, Sears said.

The man’s current condition is unknown, Sears said.
