As we are all aware, this is a challenging time for our great country and many parts of the world. While some of us are self-quarantined, the poor, needy and many seniors struggle.
Can you help the local food pantry? What do they need? They all need white bread. The children like it with PB and jelly. They need coffee, tea, chocolate or other instant pudding, kids treats. Have you an older relative or friend you could go to the store for? Many seniors are so afraid of contracting the virus that they hesitate to go out.
Catholic Charities is currently preparing lunch for seniors some days in the Dorr Township community room on Lake Street in Woodstock. Hopefully, they will continue for the next few weeks. Maybe they won't ask the seniors for a contribution if we are generous with them.
It is always the poorest, oldest and least skilled that seem to suffer the most during difficult times.
