Letters to the Editor

Letter: Who is working for us now?

To the Editor,

The Republicans and Democrats worked very hard over the weekend to come up with a stimulus plan to help people adversely affected by the shutdown. Then the power-hungry Nancy Pelosi comes flying in with her own 1,400-page plan and convinces her minions to vote against the plan already worked out.

Why? She didn’t want a crisis to go to waste, so she came with a laundry list of items that supporters of the Green New Deal are pushing for, but are afraid they can’t get passed any other way.

The Democrats pretend to be for the workers, but are interested in only one thing: power. James Clyburn, majority whip, opines “This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.” He means the vision of the far left. The American workers be damned; they don’t count for anything in the Democrats’ vision.

This crisis has demonstrated who the important people in our country are: not the celebrities or the elite.

The people working for us now are the medical people, truck drivers, grocery store clerks, plumbers, electricians, etc. These are the deplorables that the elite look down their noses at. Where would we be without these dedicated people? And the Democrats work for only one thing: more power. I will remember that in November.
